We stimulate and coordinate industry-driven, business-oriented, pre-competitive R&D by bringing together partners from industry, universities and research institutes in strategic projects. We provide the link between funding, technology and software engineering skills.
ITEA 2 is defined as a two-phase programme, with four Calls for Projects in each phase. Duration of projects is three years maximum.
The current set of over 140 projects (ITEA & ITEA 2) with more than 1000 partners from 30 countries has established a solid basis for further development. Many of these have led to the creation of new products, and some to new start-ups.
At the end of the ITEA programme, more than 10,000 person-years of R&D have been invested. The ambitions of ITEA 2 are to mobilise a total of 20,000 person-years over the full eight-year duration.
The seventh ITEA 2 Call for Projects opens on 1 February 2012 - the deadline for Project Outlines (POs) is 30 March 2012.
