This Programme Report summarises the results achieved in the period 1 January to 31 December 2008. To complement the report, up-to-date statistical information will be available in the password-protected area of our website.

 

• PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

Five projects are still active within the ITEA programme, while 79 projects have been completed. The total size of the ITEA portfolio is just over 10,000 person-years. After three call cycles in ITEA 2, 29 ITEA 2 projects are currently active, while 17 projects have been labelled and are still in-launch. In total, ITEA 2 now comprises 7,249 person-years, based on current full project proposals (FPPs).

 

The relative participation of companies other than the ITEA Founding Companies (IFCs), including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), continues to increase.

 


• ROADMAP 3
The third edition of the ITEA Roadmap for Software-Intensive Systems and Services was presented at the 2008 symposium. The Roadmap 3 document was officially released in print and on the ITEA 2 website in February 2009. The ITEA 2 Office will plan and organise several events and activities to promote the document and its impact. Such events and activities are being planned in Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.


ITEA 2 SYMPOSIUM 2008
On 21 & 22 October in Rotterdam, 563 R&D actors and policy makers representing industry, academia and Public Authorities from all over Europe participated in the ITEA 2 Symposium and the ARTEMIS and ITEA Co-summit. The overall theme of the event was ‘European competitiveness and well-being through ICT-based innovation’. The event was a success with an overall evaluation score of 3.9 out of 5.


• ORGANISATION ISSUES

The following organisational changes occurred:

 The ITEA 2 Presidium thanks all departing colleagues for their contributions and welcomes the new members of Board, BSG and Office.


• AMBITION FOR THE ITEA 2 PROGRAMME IN 2009
